HeartShield

In partnership with Darley First Responders and East Midlands Ambulance Service

A Heartshield Responder is a person that volunteers to provide emergency medical assistance
within their local community following a notification from a smartphone app. The
intention is that the responder arrives at an incident ahead of the ambulance crew and the local
CFR and, where appropriate, begins to administer hands-only CPR. Heartshield Responders are generally laypersons, although some may be healthcare professionals, undertaking voluntary duties on behalf of their community.
